FINDING NEEMA: Who will save Mombasa from the stench emanating from the Kibarani dumpsite, where some people burn old tyres daily to extract the wire linings? asks Martin Wahome.

"It's an eyesore on the landscape. Sadly, there is no other way into Mombasa for visitors who flock to this coastal town.

Where is Nema when you need them?" And his word of advice?

"Keep your windows tightly shut or hold your breath until you get out of this danger zone!"

TARIFF WOES: Safaricom has noted Jimmi Makotsi's complaint that he has not been able to enjoy the cheaper calling rate promised under the Super Ongea tariff. However, CEO Michael Joseph says that on checking his line, it was established that Jimmi has, in fact, been on the Ongea tariff. "We wish to advise Mr Makotsi and all our other subscribers who would like to benefit from the discounts available on the Supa Ongea tariff to register for it by dialling *212*5# .

TRAFFIC JAM: Manmohan Rai Aggarwal is angry with the City Council of Nairobi's recent attempt to streamline the traffic flow at Westlands shopping centre.

A few months ago, he adds, it was decided that on the section of Ring Road between The Mall and the Sarit Centre roundabouts, vehicles should turn left only.

Dividers were then placed in the middle of the road, and it seemed to work.

Then the dividers were removed and the result is traffic jams.

PATRIOTISM: What Job Izaak Salasya has found out, to his utter consternation, is that nearly three-quarters of all Kenyans can't sing the National Anthem, but will very easily sing pop songs.

A good number of them, Job adds, can also sing the whole of Eric Wainaina's song, "Mimi ni Mkenya".

According to him, the Wainaina song "has even deeper message and creates more emotion than the National Anthem".

Job is proposing that the Wainaina song be considered for adoption as the National Anthem.

Have a patriotic day, won't you!
