Nairobi — A suspected rapist also accused of killing of former Embakasi MP Mugabe Were claims he was with his family in Eldoret on the day he is alleged to have robbed and raped a tourist.
Mr James Castro says he was not in the group that attacked tourists at the Masaai Lodge in Ongata Rongai.
In a sworn defence, Mr Castro says he was in Eldoret running his business on the day of attack.
"I am being charged for an offence I know nothing about," he says. The suspect has five pending cases, and wants to be freed claiming DNA tests had cleared him of the rape allegations.
The doctor who testified on the DNA test has been called back to clarify the results. The case continues on September 25.
