Nation Media Group (NMG) has rewarded newspaper vendors in Isiolo Town with a number of prizes for achieving or surpassing sales targets in the first quarter of the year.
Several vendors walked home with generators, gas cookers and digital video disc (DVD) players.
NMG business partner in the region, Mr Chris Kobia, handed over the prizes to the winners at a ceremony in a local hotel. He said the vendors surpassed their targets in selling a substantial number of all the Nation publications.
Mr Kobia said the sales of the Daily Nation, Sunday Nation, Taifa Leo and other new publications by the group rose by 20 per cent in the region.
The town had one of the highest increase in sales, of 40 per cent, compared to other regions. Mr Kobia also attributed the increase to the town's rising population, and construction of the Isiolo-Moyale road, and an arbattoir and airstrip.
