A spokesperson for displaced people at Kitale showground was arrested after he differed with the local District Commissioner on resettlement.
Trans Nzoia West DC, Mr Francis Mutie, ordered Mr Joseph Kubaro, arrested for alleged incitement.
Kubaro on Wednesday told Special Programmes minister, Dr Noami Shaban, that the 1,500 IDPs at the camp would not return to their homes since they feared for their security.
But a furious Mutie walked into the camp yesterday and ordered the spokesperson's arrest.
But Kaburo was released an hour later after word went round that the IDPs were planning to storm the station.
