Editorial Article

The Kenya Anti Corruption Commission (KACC) should come out quick and fast and explain to the country what it is doing with embattled businessman Deepak Kamani, who was a wanted man due to his dealings in the Anglo Leasing transactions.

This is the time for the director of the KACC to come out and defend the institution which has earned its fair share of bashing by members of the public for its rat chase in the name of trapping the barons of corruption.

Retired Justice Aaron Ringera should explain the progress of Anglo-Leasing investigations and under what circumstances Mr Kamani returned to Kenya. If it is under the Economic Crimes Act 2003, then Kenyans would like to be updated least the Anglo leasing 'ghost' takes a different dimension.

Mr Kamani is a good catch for Mr Ringera for he can spill beans on what he knows about that saga. But Mr Ringera and the KACC should not for one minute think that this is going to be a smooth journey. Corruption fights back, and it has deep pockets.

The questioning of Kamani should be a step in unravelling the Anglo Leasing scam and for the KACC to give Kenyans some solid answers.
