Kipsigis Girls High School crushed former champions Marinyin 29-26 in a closely-contested final to clinch the Kericho District Secondary Schools netball title at the Kericho TTC grounds, on Wednesday.
Kipsigis had eliminated Sosiot 35-22 in the semis, while Marinyin dismissed Kipsitet 31-23 to in the semis.
In girls' handball, Kipchimchim High School defeated archrivals Kipsigis Girls High School 9-8 to claim the title.
En-route to the finals, Kipchimchim had narrowly edged Chemamul 5-2, while Kipsigis Girls dismissed Kericho Day 11-9 in semis.
In the boys' category, Kabianga defeated Kericho Tea21-10 to clinch the title.
In the semis, Kabianga whitewashed former champions Soliat 22-2, while Kericho Tea hit Kipchimchim 17-12.
In 15s rugby, champions Kericho High School crushed all their opponents to retain the district title.
Kabianga took the runners-up position.
In Kipkelion District, Chepseon Secondary School thrashed Kapchelanga 9-2 to clinch the girls' handball title at the Momoniat Secondary School grounds.
Evaline Togom was the highest scorer with 10 goals to her credit.
En-route to the finals Chepseon narrowly edged Taita Towett 12-11 to sail to the finals while Kapchelanga dismissed Kapkondor 15-5.
In the boys' category, Kapchelanga defeated the hosts Momoniat 6-3 in the final with Aaron Langat emerging the top scorer.
In netball, Kokwet are the new champions after defeating Londiani Academy 11-8 in the finals.
In the semis, Kokwet dismissed Chagaik 16-6, while Londiani Academy hit Chepseon 16-10.
In the play-off, Chepseon beat Chagiak 12-9 to clinch the third position.
The regional championship will be staged in Litein High School in Bureti District from tomorrow to Sunday according the regional secretary Kipngetich Selim.
