Two squad that have been camping in Nyahururu to prepare for this weekend's Armed Forces Athletics Championships concluded training Wednseday.
Artillery Brigade of Nairobi and the Second Brigade of Lanet have been camping at the high altitude town since April to shape up for the weekend championship.
The teams, which had been camping next to the Thomson Falls and training at the Nyahururu stadium, left for Nairobi Wednesday afternoon in a convoy of army trucks.
Some of the athletes had light training at the stadium in the morning.
Among the internationals are John Korir, who finished third at this year's Stramilano Half Marathon.
Korir will be among the athletes to watch this weekend since he managed to clock 14:22.18 during his team's time trial that also acted as Artillery Brigade's inter-units championship.
Elsewhere, more than 15 athletes practising at Ruring'u Stadium in Nyeri for the Safaricom Marathon in Lewa are appealing to well-wishers to assist them pay registration fee for the marathon.
The deadline set for paying the fee is May 23. "Apart from lacking registration fee, we also don't have proper attire and transport to the venue," 27-year-old Josephine Wairimu of Karatina said.
However, the athletes have vowed to continue with their practice despite lack of coaches and money stating they will participate in other races if they fail
