The Kenya Wildlife Service has released Sh1 million to compensate animal-human conflict victims in Imenti North and Tigania districts.

A conservationist, Mr Thomas Mailu, said that 10 people who were either killed or maimed by wildlife will benefit from the fund.

Mr Mailu said that those who suffered permanent injuries would receive up to Sh50,000, adding that destruction of food crops would not be compensated.

He urged communities to agree on a pending court case, delaying the erection of a fence.
