Three legislators allied to the Party of National Unity want Prime Minister Raila Odinga to order his supporters to vacate houses in Nairobi which they illegally occupied after the post-election violence.

The MPs said hundreds of occupants will be ejected if they did not move out.

Mr Dick Wathika (Makadara), Mr Kabando Wa Kabando (Mukurwe-ini) and Mr Ferdinand Waititu (Embakasi) said the Prime Minister's supporters took over houses in various city estates and refused to pay rent, claiming they were built by free funds from previous administrations.

The MPs were speaking on Saturday during the burial of Dandora Phase One civic leader Jackson Gachanja Wanjohi in Mukurwe-ini division.

"Prime Minister Odinga tell your people to move out or pay rent," said Mr Wathika.

Eject them

Mr Kabando said police will be used to eject them if they refused to vacate the houses or start paying rent.

"Those houses were not free as some people claim. They must move out or be ejected," said Mr Kabando.

Mr Waititu said no one should be allowed to take over property illegally.

The MPs rebuked diplomats calling for the resignation of Electoral Commission of Kenya commissioners, saying they should not meddle in Kenya's affairs.
