Nairobi — Two new non-executive directors have joined the East African Breweries Ltd board.
The beer maker's shareholders approved the appointment of Ms Constance Gakonyo and Mr Alan Shonubi during their annual general meeting held last week.
Ms Gakonyo has held various positions including legal consultant for the performance management portfolio for the Africa/Asia region for SABMiller, strategic resources director of Nile Breweries based in Uganda and director of human resources and legal affairs at Castle Brewing Kenya Ltd among others.
She is currently the group executive director of REAL Insurance Co Ltd (Kenya, Malawi and Tanzania).
Mr Shonubi holds a postgraduate diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Centre and is a commissioner of oaths and notary public.
He has worked with Uganda Co-operative Bank as senior legal officer and Sun International Insurance.
He has attended the International Development Law Institute and is currently the president of the East Africa Law Society and chairman of the National Library of Uganda.
